This unique attraction is known by the locals as the Great wall of Winton .. a modern day work of art and architecture .. Arno Grotjahn's wall contains almost every household item you can imagine including the kitchen sink.

The wall is about two metres high and about 70 metres long .. the walls are held together with rock and concrete .. delivered right from Arno's opal mine at Opalton and masterfully decorated with old and rusted items like wheels .. toilets .. lawn mower parts .. boat propellers .. vintage typewriters .. sewing machines .. mix masters .. motorbikes and much more.

Arno was born in 1930 and spent his youth as a merchant seaman travelling the world .. Arno immigrated to Australia from Germany in the 1970's and spent his time in and around Winton's opal mines .. he built the wall himself by hand .. he was inspired by time spent working at the Vatican in Rome .. it is his way of expressing the history of mankind .. True Story!!
