< Welcome to Outback Queensland Australia The Winton Outback Motel was bought in October 2003 by Deborah and Max Yesberg .. they left their motel of 5 years in Inglewood in Queensland Australia and travelled around Australia for one year .. catching up with friends and family .. they soon missed the friendly life style and decided it was time to buy another motel .. what better place than Winton .. where the country people make you feel so welcome .. and our office staff will greet you with their tail wagging! The Motel is continually being refurbished and updated to meet the growing tourist trade. From time to time we have the wonderful privilege of helping a baby kangaroo survive .. they come to us from many sources but mainly their mums are hit by a car and the babies are bought to us to rear until they are strong enough to go to a wild life refuge .. but as one sadly leaves us another one is delivered .. you are welcome to have your photo taken or help us at feed time. CLICK FOR MORE PHOTOS Guests stop over for many reasons .. few are just passing through and stay overnight .. others are trades man sent out here to service our Outback needs .. but most people are here for an Outback Holiday .. to see for themselves what a special place Winton is .. a stroll down the main street could take you all day. First you have to have a beer in the Historical North Gregory Hotel where Waltzing Matilda was first performed .. then the Opal Walk or the historic Corfield and Fitzmaurice Store .. the Matilda Centre is Wintons master piece and don't forget Searles Store where you can buy anything .. especially those things you haven't seen for years. Ladies check out Matildas' Wardrobe for something special .. next is the Royal Theatre which offers patrons a rare opportunity to enjoy movies the old fashioned way .. laid back canvas seats under the stars .. now you are ready for another beer .. Tattersals Hotel is your last stop before home .. you can sit outside and have a cool drink while waiting for lunch or dinner or just watch the magnificent sunsets arrive. Early morning breakfasts can be arranged. We have a large parking area on our adjoining land alongside the motel for trucks or vehicles with trailers.
